CONSTITUTION of the HOLMEWOOD NEIGHBOURHOOD ASSOCIATION  January 1998

 

Name

1        The Association shall be known as the

HOLMEWOOD NEIGHBOURHOOD ASSOCIATION

representing the area and including :

Holmewood Gardens / Holmewood Road / Maplestead Road / Cotherstone Road

 

Objectives

2        The objectives of the Association are:

 

          a.       to represent the interests of residents.

 

          b.       to protect and enhance the local environment.

 

          c.       to encourage the participation of the whole community in the association

 

d.                 to encourage co-operation, welfare and social activities

 

Membership

3        Membership shall be free and open to all residents.

 

Meetings

4        There shall be at least three General Meetings held each year in addition to

the Annual General Meeting open to all residents to speak and vote.

 

5        An Annual General Meeting shall be held each year during January

 

6        Notice for a General Meeting shall be  7  days and  28  days for the Annual

General Meeting.

 

Officers

7        These officers shall be elected at each Annual General Meeting :

          Chairperson, Secretary,  Treasurer.

 

Committee

8        The business of the Association shall conducted by a Committee elected at each

Annual General Meeting, which shall consist of:

the officers plus 

five other members plus 

three co-opted members.

No two or more officers or Committee members shall be elected or co-opted from

the same household.

 

Quorum

9        The quorum for:

the committee is four including two of the three officers.

the General Meetings is fifteen.

                   the Annual General Meeting is fifteen.

 

Funding

10      The Association may receive donations or raise monies which shall only be

applied to further the objectives of the Association.

 

11      An independent auditor shall be appointed at the Annual General Meeting

 

12      Our financial year ends on the last day of October.

 

13      Audited accounts for the past year shall be presented at the Annual

General Meeting

 

Alterations to the Constitution

14      This constitution may be amended by a motion passed at the Annual

General Meeting

 

Dissolution

15      Should the Association cease to exist, any residual funds shall be spent on the

neighbourhood.
